A Punk-Gospel-Mass against hypocricy for Chrismas 1999. Pretty dark in total. Harsh and dry guitarrock, with a bit of an acoustic folk touch. The titel includes a double sense: DIE MESSE is German for The Mass, while it got the structure of a classical mass, but DIEM ESSE also says “Let there be dawn” in Latin. This may represent two levels: the worldly ritual in the actual spoken langue and the beyond action in the language of traditional incantations. All the songs will also feature a titel in latin refering to typical titels in a classical mass. This album is full of symbolism and hints to ancient mysticism. Starting with a song about anticipation of death and and instructions for a funeral, after pieces on the things of life the album flows into a hymn on a dead hero and the resurection of his soul. The overall concept is the invocation of the seventh sephiroth of the cabbalistic tree of life: Netzah / Venus / Eternity. That´s why there are seven songs. Everybody knows that seven is considered a holy number, while psychologist found lots of relations. The music is dark, Rock,Punky,Folk. It´s a black night album. Best before: Dawn.
